Selci is the project for three residential buildings in Monteluce – Perugia – on the masterplan made by Bolles&Wilson, realized by BNL Fondi Immobiliari.

The first idea derived, as usual, from the site. Perugia is full of buildings where inside and outside seem to get confused, public pathways enter in and become streets or private hall, gardens or small squares.

So void starts to become the most important thing in the site. Void was the public space in a residential and complete private building, but it would give the whole intervention something more interesting.

Void is a promenade from outside to inside and from inside to flats. Big holes on the southern side makes light and air penetrate into the buildings and make the flaneur have a gorgeous view on the sorroundings.

As regards the apartments, everyone seems to have its own villa walking through the promenade. It’s like to have something which is between the villa in the countryside and the apartment in the old city, it’s a middle way we thought should be right for Monteluce. A terrace or a patio for the last floors would give everyone a small garden in town.

Forms derives from Bolles&Wilson masterplan and help to appreciate more views on the hills and on the ancient Perugia. So buildings seem those local rocks, called selci.

The entrance is on the street in the highest part of the hill.

Huge halls, through which you can easily see the landscape, receive residents and visitors. Then they start their promenade up and down.

Plans are different in every level: so that everyone has its own apartment and terrace on the gentle landscape of Umbria.

Monteluce residence means 90 apartments (from 1 to 5 rooms), 2-levels parking, common halls close to the garden, a big green dune on which the three buildings lay on.
